Strategic Dialogue Between Key Actors in the Honduran Coffee Sector

GIZ coordinated a Stakeholder Workshop in Honduras on March 6th, 2026, as part of the German Retailers’ Working Group on Living Income in the Coffee Sector. The workshop brought together various stakeholders and actors relevant to the coffee sector, fostering exchange and dialogue on living income in the coffee sector.

Field Visit of APROCOMSA: Dialogue and Learning on Living Incomes in Coffee

Representatives of the German Retailers Working Group, the German Embassy, and GIZ visited the farm La Colmena together with producers and the APROCOMSA team. During the visit, they learned about production practices, coffee quality, and experiences, offering insights into the WG’s objective of living incomes for coffee-growing families.

Examining household income data and needs assessments from the 2024/2025 coffee year, the Baseline Assessment published by German Retailers’ Working Group offers important contextual insights into the coffee sectors of Peru and Honduras, providing the Working Group with an evidence-based foundation for ongoing and new project activities.

The conference 'Beyond Price: Strategies for a Sustainable Income for Producers' was held on 27 November in Lima, organised by the German Development Cooperation, the NGO Rikolto and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP). This event marked the launch of the Coffee Symposium activities within the framework of Expocafé 2025 in Peru, the country’s largest national trade fair for the sector.
