The International Year of the Woman Farmer (IYWF) 2026, initiated by the United Nations, calls our attention to the vital role women take on in global agricultural supply chains, food security, nutrition and economic resilience. At the same time, the challenges, inequalities and structural barriers they continue to face keep being overlooked. A gender-responsive due diligence approach can therefore be a powerful tool to strengthen women’s participation, opportunities, and position in agricultural supply chains.

DIASCA Virtual Learning Series - Session 2: From Mapping to Mandate

In the last session, we examined how industries may tend toward pre-competitive collaboration through a mix of incentives, shocks, and regulatory interventions. In this session, we examine how industries may arrive at real systems and approaches to foster and set their collaboration in motion more intentionally. This session shares practical, sequenced methods for helping competing actors recognize their shared interests and begin to build something together. Ecosystem mapping, group mediation, prototyping and co-design, and building governance from the ground up are key approaches examined, with learnings from Honduras, Kenya, Guatemala, and Peru.

DIASCA Virtual Learning Series - Session 1: Data Islands

Digital public infrastructure is gaining currency as a way for industries to coordinate at the level of whole sectors and value chains. Government-led models are not the only path. Drawing on examples from a diversity of global contexts, including telecommunications, pharma, and compliance with the EU deforestation regulation in producer countries, this opening session aims to surface the incentives, triggers, and levers (regulatory and/or otherwise) that help industries move from fragmented data islands towards shared infrastructures in service of the public interest.

The Free and Open-source Tools Explainer:an interactive catalogue designed to help supply chain actors navigate the different technological tools developed primarily within the Team Europe Initiative for Deforestation-Free Value Chains (TEI). These tools support users in areas such as deforestation risk, geolocation, legality risk, and traceability, helping them along their journey towards more sustainable supply chains.

DIASCA Dialogue #3 - Preparing for EUDR: Guidelines for National Coffee Plot Databases

In this Dialogue, Ms Hannelore Beerlandt will present the work being undertaken by the ICO through its Coffee Public-Private Task Force (CPPTF) to support coffee-producing countries in preparing for the EUDR. Focus will lie on the Voluntary Guidelines the CPPTF would like to consolidate to assist stakeholders with the design, implementation, and operation of coffee plot databases. During this DIASCA Dialogue, participants will be invited to share their experiences and perspectives.
