From Harvest to Profit – Smarter Storage for Better Markets in Ghana

With post-harvest losses reaching up to 40% in Ghana, innovative storage and market solutions are making a measurable difference. Through a development partnership with Saving Grains 301 GmbH under the Fund for the Promotion of Innovation in Agriculture (i4Ag), more than 16,000 smallholder farmers have improved grain management, reduced losses and increased market opportunities. The inauguration of the new community warehouse in Shebo in Northern Ghana marks another milestone in building more resilient food systems and strengthening rural livelihoods.

Red Card to Child Labour in the Ghanaian Cocoa Sector

Every child deserves a safe childhood, quality education, and the opportunity to achieve their full potential. Protecting children today is essential for securing a sustainable cocoa sector for tomorrow. On the 19th of June, 2026, more than 480 students, cocoa farmers, and stakeholders from Ghana's cocoa sector gathered at Assin Akonfudi in the Assin South District of the Central Region to mark the World Day Against Child Labour, reaffirming their commitment to eliminating child labour and promoting sustainable cocoa production.

Innovations in Cocoa Communities: Training in Desmodium Production

More than 370 cocoa farmers in the Ashanti Region are learning how to grow the medicinal plant Desmodium that can improve livelihoods and create new income opportunities. Through hands-on training in Desmodium production and multiplication, farmers are gaining practical skills to diversify their farming activities and strengthen household resilience.
