Child labour remains one of the most serious violations of children's rights in the world. The cocoa sector is one of the areas where child labour is most widespread. With the Partner Forum 2025, the Ghanaian government and the Sustainable Cocoa Programme (SCP) reaffirm their joint efforts to end child labour in Ghana's cocoa sector.

Breaking Barriers: Building Gender Equality in the Cocoa Industry

The cocoa industry is a cornerstone of Ghana’s economy, supporting the livelihoods of millions and contributing significantly to national revenue. Yet, persistent gender inequalities continues to hinder progress, particularly for women in the sector. To counter this the GIZ - Sustainable Cocoa Programme (SCP), in partnership with the Gender Desk of the Ghana Cocoa Board (COCOBOD) has organized an intensive three-day training on gender mainstreaming for directors and managers of COCOBOD in Accra, Ghana.

FIT for FAIR closes in Ethiopia: Handover of Policy Recommendations

On August 28th in Ethiopia, the FIT for FAIR project – implemented by the Ethiopian Coffee and Tea Authority (ECTA) with the support of the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) and SASI – was concluded. The validation workshop in Addis Ababa marked the end of more than one year of intensive work on enabling framework conditions for the operationalization of the EU Deforestation Regulation (EUDR).

FIT for FAIR closes in Côte d’Ivoire: Handover of Policy Recommendations

On July 3rd in Côte d’Ivoire, the FIT for FAIR project – implemented by the Ivorian National Export Council (Conseil National des Exportations) with the support of the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit and SASI – was concluded, marking 18 months of intensive discussions and work on enabling framework conditions for the operationalization of key due diligence regulations: namely, the EU Deforestation Regulation (EUDR), the German Supply Chain Act (LkSG), and the EU Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence Directive (CSDDD).

ADP Multi-Stakeholder Meeting 2025 on Deforestation-Free Agricultural Supply Chains

The Amsterdam Declarations Partnership (ADP) is an alliance of ten European countries aimed at promoting deforestation-free supply chains. Each year, it brings together key international stakeholders to advance efforts against deforestation. Under the title “10 Years of ADP and only 5 years to 2030! United for Global Zero-Deforestation Commitments,” the annual ADP Multi-Stakeholder Meeting took place on June 5, 2025, at the GIZ Representation in Berlin.
