EU Kofi SCI
The EU Kofi on Sustainable Cocoa is implemented in three countries – Cameroon, Côte d’Ivoire, and Ghana – through a flexible, demand-driven technical assistance approach. It is delivered by four implementing partners: the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) and the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH, among others. In Ghana and Côte d’Ivoire, the project has been extended for an additional two years (second phase). In Cameroon, the Sustainable Cocoa Program (SCP) supports the development of traceability systems through geodata collection and the establishment of a database for the National Cocoa and Coffee Board, enabling compliance with the EU Deforestation Regulation (EUDR). In addition, sustainable practices are promoted through the development of an agroforestry manual. EUDR sensitisation campaigns in the cocoa sector further contribute to deforestation-free supply chains.
