SASI Lunchbreak on supply chain due diligence act part 9
AI powered Geospatial Solutions for Smarter Due Diligence
Dear friends of the Sustainable Agricultural Supply Chains Initiative (SASI),
We hereby invite you to the 9th SASI Lunchbreak on October 10th, 2025, from 12:00 to 13:00 CET.
In this SASI Lunchbreak, we will focus on the topic of AI powered Geospatial Solutions for Smarter Due Diligence.
The synergy of satellite data and artificial intelligence presents a wealth of opportunities across diverse sectors. By examining geospatial information, this capability can pinpoint land use patterns and forecast various outcomes, moving far beyond traditional methods. It serves as a potent tool for strategic foresight and data-driven decision-making across multiple sectors, enabling organizations to optimize operations, mitigate risks, and uncover new opportunities with unparalleled precision.
Geospatial AI innovations offer significant opportunities in various sectors. Its use allows crop type mapping and crop yield forecasting, empowering agribusinesses to optimize the logistics of agricultural supply chains from farm to market, which in turn leads to reduced post-harvest loss and enhanced traceability. This technology enables sustainable forestry and water management by identifying at-risk areas and optimizing resource allocation. Furthermore, the technology supports more precise environmental risk assessment for sectors like insurance, which can better model flood or drought risks to optimize policy offerings. This fusion of AI and location data allows proactive management of environmental challenges and streamlining operations across a range of industries.
We are pleased to welcome AKADEMIYA2063 and Pan African Farmers Organisation (PAFO) to share insights into their joint work on the SASI-project Digitally Enabled Resilience and Nutrition Policy Innovations (DERPIn) and the potential of geospatial AI innovations.
You will find the access link in the calendar entry, which you can download after registration. If you do not receive a calendar entry, please contact us.

In our series of events, we will show that implementing due diligence is feasible for everyone. With our expertise, we want to actively support you in the implementation. On the one hand, we will present various practice-oriented tools and guidelines with a focus on the agricultural and food sector. On the other hand, we keep an eye on ongoing EU legislative processes and international discussions for you. It is also indispensable to take the perspective of the people and companies in the partner countries. We want to include them through our cooperation on the ground. The SASI Lunchbreak is a regular format offered online as a digital event on the first Friday of each month.
