SASI Lunchbreak on supply chain due diligence act part 10
Advancing Gender Equity in Agricultural Supply Chains
Dear friends of the Sustainable Agricultural Supply Chains Initiative (SASI),
We hereby invite you to the 10th SASI Lunchbreak on November 7th, 2025, from 12:00 to 13:00 CET.
The upcoming Lunchbreak will focus on gender equity in agricultural supply chains.
Around the world, the International Day of Rural Women on October 15th highlighted the essential role women play in securing global food systems. Although women contribute as much as men in agriculture, they still earn on average 18% less. Closing this gap benefits everyone: it empowers women, strengthens families and communities, contributes to economic development and makes global food systems more resilient.
Through Feminist & Fair (F&F), stakeholders in global agricultural supply chains make the case that sustainable supply chains must go hand in hand with transformative and intersectional activities. The projects are shaped by the groups they seek to strengthen and are implanted and planned with civil society players rather than for them.
In this webinar, we will introduce the PoweRRR Project in Indonesia– a partnership between Perempuan Mahardhika, a women’s organization, Yayasan Solidaridad Network Indonesia (YSNI), Solidaridad Network Asia Limited, and PT Syngenta Indonesia. The PoweRRR Project uplifts marginalized groups, particularly women farmers and transmigrant workers in the palm oil supply chain in Indonesia. It achieves this by improving access to resources and inputs, supporting women’s leadership in both agricultural supply chains and within their communities and community representation through local groups.
We are pleased to welcome Solidaridad Asia and Perempuan Mahardhika to present us their project and why they are convinced that corporate due diligence and gender equity go hand in hand: when companies address equity issues in their supply chains, they not only mitigate risks, they unlock opportunities for more sustainable growth.

In our series of events, we will show that implementing due diligence is feasible for everyone. With our expertise, we want to actively support you in the implementation. On the one hand, we will present various practice-oriented tools and guidelines with a focus on the agricultural and food sector. On the other hand, we keep an eye on ongoing EU legislative processes and international discussions for you. It is also indispensable to take the perspective of the people and companies in the partner countries. We want to include them through our cooperation on the ground. The SASI Lunchbreak is a regular format offered online as a digital event on the first Friday of each month.
