Commodity Hub Cameroon
At the producer level, the Commodity Hub Cameroon supported sustainable farming practices such as Integrated Pest Management (IPM) and the introduction of organic fertilizers and pesticides through a variety of training methods, including Good Agricultural Practices (GAP), Farmer Field Schools, and VR trainings. The project also piloted organic cotton production in Cameroon. Additionally, farmer capacities in household and farm management were enhanced through farmer business schools and coaching.At the processing level, the project strengthened the technical and entrepreneurial skills of artisans and promoted market access through trainings, coaching, provision of equipment, and participation in trade fairs. A training program for fashion designers was supported to improve both technical and business skills. To further boost the local textile industry, the project backed an incubation program aimed at promoting innovative and economically viable businesses.
