DIASCA Working Group Meeting: Integrity and Precompetitive Collaboration in AgriFood Supply Chains

Dear DIASCA Members,

Transforming agricultural supply chains to be a force for human and environmental impacts is a matter of integrity–aligning people, data, and products around shared goals.   It is also a matter of collaboration, because the challenge is bigger challenge than any one organization could handle alone. In this session we will look at building supply chain integrity through three lenses: precompetitive digital platforms, applied theory and practice, and open science to support environmental credence claims.

22.05.2025 - 4 pm CEST / 10 am EST

We will be joined by:

Professor Louise Manning, University of Lincoln.  Professor Manning will share insights from two research papers, one focused on food integrity emphasising four pillars: data, people, process and product and the second paper emphasizing the need for evidence triangulation within validation and verification ecosystems.

Gary Nowacki, former CEO of TraceGains—a leading digital platform connecting food and CPG companies with suppliers to streamline compliance and transparency. He will discuss how pre-competitive collaboration can enable scalable, industry-wide solutions to meet traceability demands, with a focus on the EU Deforestation Regulation (EUDR) and the role of networked intelligence in verifying origin and ensuring compliance.

Wendy Francesconi, Senior Environmental Scientist with the Alliance Bioversity-CIAT.  Dr. Francesconi will address how scientific insights can be integrated into investment decision-making processes for agricultural small and medium enterprises and strengthen accountability for environmental impact, drawing on a case study from the Amazon Biodiversity Fund.

We hope you will be able to join us.
