SASI Webinar: Sustainability, Agricultural Supply Chains, and the EU Global Gateway
The EU is doubling down on Global Gateway, its foreign investment strategy, at a time when the sustainability and development landscape is shifting. A central part of this approach is closer collaboration with the private sector in key agricultural sectors such as coffee, cocoa, palm oil, and natural rubber. For retailers, brands, manufacturers, traders, and producers, this opens up potential new avenues.
Dear friends of the Sustainable Agricultural Supply Chains Initiative (SASI),
We are pleased to invite you for the SASI webinar Sustainability, Agricultural Supply Chains, and the EU Global Gateway – an introduction, taking place on Thursday, November 12th, 15:00-16:00 CET.
The existing sustainability and development landscape is changing. Meanwhile, the EU is doubling down on its foreign investment strategy called “Global Gateway”. In doing so, the EU is looking for stronger collaboration with the private sector in key sectors like coffee, cocoa, palm oil, natural rubber, among others.
This holds potential for the retailers, brands, manufacturers, traders and producers who are already active in Africa, Latin America, and Asia.
But what is Global Gateway actually about? How could a potential collaboration take shape? And what are the benefits beyond a private sector-only approach?
Join this session in which Joost Backer, our Brussels-based SASI Advisor to the EU, will take you through the value, criteria, and challenges with regards to Global Gateway. Ultimately, we hope it can lead to new impactful opportunities towards more resilient, fair, and sustainable supply chains.
Important: This webinar is intended for participants from the private sector.
